Maple Village. I had never come as a guest...I'm usually behind the scenes in the kitchen and running around. I truly wish I could have been more help this year, but not knowing when baby C would be coming I couldn't commit to it. The Outreach Commitee did a superb job and the Faire was beautiful! I thought I'd share some photos.
The hanging birds we made greeted us as we walked in the door. I wish I could have captured them better on film. They flew in the breeze and looked simply magical. Thanks to Lisa at 5 Orange Potatoes for the tutorial on how to make them!
We arrived just as the Storytime began...
The Maypole Dance followed storytime. F had been waiting for this all week...she was very excited to be a part of it all and had even practiced! The children danced around the Maypole while their teacher sang and played the flute.
Next we went to make some of the crafts. F made some Fairy Boats while E enjoyed creating the wooden stamp necklaces.
We had worked up quite an appetite, off we went to the Village Cafe and we got one of everything:
Roasted Vegetable Pasta
A plate of homemade Apricot Oatmeal Bars
Organic strawberries with Vegan Vanilla Cream Sauce
Mixed Green salad with Strawberry Vinaigrette
Carrots and homemade hummus
and of course Chip's famous Pretzel Rolls!!
While we were eating we joined in the Sing-a-long with the Playgroup teacher. This was actually my favorite part of the day. Little E is just captivated by Ms. Lisa's songs.
While I was eating my sneaky little F went and made me a gorgeous Flower Crown!
What do you think?
On our way out F & E found some beautiful little flowers growing out of the gutter and created a beautiful fairy-sized vase out of a palm seed.
A May Faire it was indeed! Thanks to all of you who came out and enjoyed the Faire and thanks to all the families, faculty and staff at Maple Village who made it a success. You gave your time, energy, love and donations...it showed!
